Thursday morning teaching
All Oakland residents should attend 0700-0900
The 2nd year residents are responsible for bringing the keyboard/mouse equipment and help with setup
Notes should not be worked on during education. Finish notes before or after.Â
Journal Club
Usually every 2nd Tuesday of the month
Rotate between attending selected articles v resident selected articles.
Temporal bone lab
Organized by Dr. Rivero and T-bone lab resident reps
Guest lecturers followed by lab time
HNC Regional Multi-Disciplinary Clinic (Tumor Board)
Usually every Thursday
The resident on Cancer month will likely be the resident going to this
Use the specific dot phrase and fill out prior to clinic
Grand Rounds
Quarterly every 3rd Friday of July, October, January, April
Organized by the assigned resident
Residents are responsible for a 20 - 30 minute presentation
M&M&M - Morbidity, Mortality, and Misdiagnosis (Missed) conference
Quarterly, usually held on the same day as Grand Rounds
Short presentations with concise history, reflection on what/why, and evidence based learning points.

UCSF Oto-Update (and other disciplines like Voice, H&N, etc.)
Stanford Soft Tissue/Facial Plastic Course and Laryngology courses (and other updates like Pediatric, etc.)
California Ear/Sinus Institute Sinus Course (for seniors)
Seattle Science Foundation Otology and Advanced Rhinology
Self-study
Emphasis is placed on performance on the in-service (usually on the 1st Saturday of March)
