Transfacial removal of parotid stone

Preparation 

• Ask for the newest SonoSite ultrasound

  • • "Hockey stick" transducer 

    • Sterile sheath with sterile ultrasound gel

    • Sterile 22 gauge needles 

• • Operative microscope 

  • 3 mm ureteral stent 

  • Sialoendoscopy tray 

    • Includes 2.3 mm scope

  • Middle ear tray

    • Specifically need the outside hook 

  • Vascular tray 

    • Bishop-Hartman forceps 

  • 8-0 Prolene or Nylon vascular suture

  • 1% Lidocaine with 1:100,000 Epinephrine 

  • 5910 Blade

  • Stocking net dressing and fluffs 

Post op

• • Pressure dressing x 3 days 

  • Augmentin / Clindamycin if the duct is entered x 7 days
